Winners!

After a week of seeing some really good submissions to the London Gossip Logo competition we are really pleased to announce that the two winners with the highest votes are:

In first place: Kameron Wylder - winner of $1000L
In second place: Katryna Raynier - winner of $500L

Both of which are now been considered to be the new look for London Gossip.

Congratulations to both of you, and to those that also submitted but didn't win, thank you for your entries and I loved them all. I especially liked Big Ben whispering something gossipy to the Gherkin :)

VL LONDON CHOSEN TO PARTICIPATE IN NEW SL EXPERIENCE

19 November 2010

Linden Lab has reached out to a select number of landowners with a unique opportunity to help test a new way to access Second Life. This test aims to introduce a fast and easy way to access Second Life via a web browser so that, for the first time, website visitors will be able to experience the creativity and communities of Second Life without having to download the full Second Life Viewer.
For this new experience, VL London was identified as a "first entry" landing point for web-based Second Life visitors in this test.

The planned period will likely run for up to two weeks, during which time a select number of website visitors will have access to Second Life via their browsers.

Most of these visitors will be new to Second Life and they will not have full access to all features. For example, they will be able to walk, listen and text chat with other Residents, but they will be unable to use voice chat and will not have inventory or be able to participate in the economy. In addition, website visitors will be limited in their inworld time to a maximum of 60 minutes and they will only have access to some inworld locations.

Participating avatars will arrive with a Guest tag and some have already appeared in Hyde.

We are all very excited about this test and are very proud that Virtually Linked London has been asked to participate. We aim to make all our guests very welcome and hope they have a very enjoyable experience and return to London when they decide to come back to Second Life.

If you fancy yourself a bit creative, we are currently running a competion where you could win $1000l or one month fully paid up rent in one of our luxury London apartments.

The competition will run for one week. You may enter once, and may only vote once, and you have to be a member of the group 'London Gossip'

Rezz Day Celebrations in Kensington

The RMS Titanic set sail from the Rendezvous in Kensington yesterday for a couple of Rezz Day celebrations. Guests were treated to a fabulous movie themed evening of celebration in honor of Samanda Renfold's second rezz day and Tegan Emerald's first rezz day. The awesome decor was provided courtesy of DoctorEva Adored, who also wore the DJ hat for the evening and provided the great tunes that had us dancing for over 3 hours!!

Happy Rezz Day again, Sam and Tegan and may this next year be even better than the last!

S.S. Galaxy in London

Halloween weekend

Halloween weekend in VL London
Well, I for one had loads of fun Halloween weekend!


London took on a whole new look with gravestones and different coloured mist all over the place. (thank you to Thom Macbain!) A haunted house towards Mayfair and loads of scary skulls, coffins and mist hidden away under trees and behind hedges. There was carts been driver around and the park was filled with avatars all dressed up and looking freakish (Marty and Javan comes to mind....and the weekend ended with an awesome party in the graveyard next to St Mary Abott Church in Kensington.








I wondered around taking some pictures and wanted to share them with you. If anyone took some and wants to share a halloween story, please let me know.













One of the crazy things to catch my eye was the skeleton wondering the hub who seemed to be writing up tickets. I didnt catch her (wink wink) name but did manage to snap off this picture. It seemed though that the skeleton was more interested in writing up ....what appeared to be tickets for the unsuspecting than having a chat with me.





Halloween weekend ended with an awesome party held at the newly erected graveyard outside of St Mary Abotts Church where DJ's Songbyrd, Thom and DoctorEva played awesome music and where i dance until the early hours.

London you did an awesome job and I had the best time. I look forward to seeing what you are going to do for Christmas :)
