Happy Birthday DJ Prettybones!!

Tuesday was a special day, as DJ Prettybones had a birthday party to celebrate her RL birthday!  Retrograde Manager and DJ Croft provided the following report and entry on the special events of that day:

11th October in RetroGrade we had 2 events:

The first event was BEST IN ARMY and the prize quickly rose to L$2089. This first part of the evening was a short (by RetroGrade Standards) 2 hrs long

Then we started the 2nd event to celebrate Prettybones RL birthday.
The board was re-opened as BEST IN WHATEVER and the prize quickly rose to L$2000 and at 2pm SLT we introduced our Special Guest DJ  who turned out to be DJ Smiffy making his RetroGrade and indeed London debut

 The place filled up quickly. The chat was random and surreal for most of the night. The contest board was filling up. And by the end of the evening, Prettybones was one year older

Queensryche Tribute Band Concert Weekend!

Join London this weekend for two days of awesome music events, including a FREE Queensryche Tribute Band Concert!

Saturday, October 1, 2011:
-Join us in Kensington for a 4 hour event by Retrograde!  Events start at 12pm slt and again at 2pm slt with music by DJ Croft himself!  Every 2 hours there will be a 2000L loaded contest board, so do not miss out on this event!

Sunday, October 2, 2011:
-Join us for a FREE Queensyrche Tribute Band Concert!  Events start at 10am slt with a special 90 minute pre kick off concert event by Mayhem Rock Club, featuring DJ Anakin and Host Angy and a 2000L loaded contest board!  Stick around for the big event:  Queensyrche, who will hit the stage in Mayfair at 1145 am slt!

PACKED LABOR DAY PARTY IN HYDE PARK!!

On Monday, Retrograde treated London guests to a 4 hour Labor Day event!  First up was DJ Prettybones, playing an eclectic mix of music, which filled Hyde Park to capacity with 100 avis!  Next up was London fav, DJ Croft who keep the crowd going for another 2 hours!  Host Donna was around for the entire day, keeping the crowd going with light banter and jokes!  Below are photos from an awesome Labor Day event by Retrograde:

The Musical Time Lord Reappears Again....

Saturday concluded the Dr Who Exhibition in Hyde Park, with DJ Croft and Host Donna giving a great four hour Retrograde performance!  Below are photos of DJ Croft reprising his musical time lord persona:

The Dr Who Exhibition was brought to London, by Vic Mornington, one of the owners of the Dr Who Exposition in the Katrina sim.  Special thanks to Vic Mornington and the Katrina sim!  If you are wanting a bit more of Dr Who in Second Life, then check out the Katrina Sim.  This past week, we featured some of the highlights of the Katrina Dr Who Exposition.  Below is our last highlight, The Temporal Architects Gift Shop:

The Doctor Who Experience staff has a lot of talented builders, scripters and texturers running and building up the region.  The new gift shop is the latest addition to the sim which features ships, avatars, textures, and items (including the highly detailed Eye Of Harmony) from Doctor Who, Red Dwarf and Sci-Fi in general...the best thing?  All the items are FREE!  At the time of writing this article more than 25 items are on offer, from Dalek Avatars, Cyberman Avatars to ships and stations.  You'll find the gift shop at the welcome hub side entrance of the main Millennium Centre mall.

Happy Birthday Retrograde!!

28th July 2011 RetroGrade held its first birthday party in Hyde Park at the Doctor Who exhibition, with the Musical TimeLord, DJ Crofty, and his companion Donna.... Dressed as Amy Pond

The contest fitted in with the surroundings, L$1000 Sci-Fi (eventually raised to L$1750)
Music was played throughout the history of rock and pop from the "Musical TimeLord" himself, playing 50s, 60s, 70,s 80,s and 90s and also music from the 21st century, along with a few of the guests favourite tracks which they had requested.

It was a great night on a warm summer's evening in Hyde Park in the shadow of St Stephen's Clock Tower (more commonly known as Big Ben) as old friends and new friends gathered to celebrate the first anniversary of RetroGrade... London's #1 for Oldies.
RetroGrade is a Second Life destination and is situated in Knightsbridge, just off the SouthWest corner of Hyde Park. Do feel free to pop in and join the "Crazy Gang" and have a ride on the "Choon Choon Train"... open 6 nights a week with a Live DJ and contests

Retrograde Tribute to Amy Whinehouse

The death of Amy Whinehouse affected all of her fans, even her Second Life ones.  Yesterday, Retrograde put on a tribute event in honor of Whinehouse.  VIP's were asked to wear black and the 2 hour set consisted of all of Amy Whinehouse's songs, played by DJ PrincessHighsmith.  Below are photos from the tribute event:

Retrograde is Now a Secondlife Destinations Club!!

London is pleased to announce that Retrograde is now a Secondlife Destinations Club!  This makes London's FIFTH club venue that is in Seconlife Destinations!  Kudos to Retrograde managers Croft Atolia and Donna Redrose for their hard work in making this possible!  Special kudos to all the Retrograde DJs and Hosts as well!

One Year Anniversary Parties for Retrograde and 5th Avenue!

This month, two London clubs will celebrate their one year anniversaries in Secondlife.  First up will be Retrograde, (formerly the A-List), will celebrate its on year anniversary party on July 28, 2011 in Hyde Park!  Events start at 12pm slt and will feature a 4 hour set by DJ Croft.  On July 29, 5th Avenue will celebrate its on year anniversary with 3, 2 hour sets all day long, between the hours of 10 am slt to 8 pm slt.  Do not miss out on the fun on both days, which will feature great music, friendly staff, DJ's, and of course contests to line your linden pockets!

Every Monday, London's favorite retro club, Retrograde, takes you back in time to different decades of music!  The DJ is none other than London Choon Master and Three Peat King Croft!  Along with host Donna, this ride down music memory lane is always most memorable!  Check out photos from today's Time Tunnel, featuring music from 1964, 1977, 1980, and 1993:

Weekend Wrapup #2-Easter Party in London!

To celebrate Easter Sunday, London had a huge party in Hyde Park.  Kicking off the festivities was DJ Croft with Host Donna who filled the park with 86 people!  Croft also had his 3 straight sim crash in Hyde Park (more to follow in a separate post).  Following DJ Croft was DJ Crysis with Host Sammy who kept the crowd in a good and fun mood.  All guests had their chance to enter our 6,000L Contest Board giveaway and to find a variety of eggs we had on the ground, including eggs that contained freebies and some which contained free lindens!  Check out photos from this event:

Weekend Wrap #1-St. George's Day Party

With Saturday being St. George's Day, London had to naturally bring you a huge party for this special day in England! Parties kicked off in our normal clubs, Capital, Retrograde, and Coach & Horses; followed by a huge event in Hyde Park, with DJ Jester kicking things off, followed by a special 90 minute Evanescence Tribute Band Concert. Finishing up the night was DJ Anakin with Host Pagan, keeping everyone partying for 4 hours. One thing I can say is that I am glad we are on private sims, where our capacity is 100 avis and not on the mainland were capacity is 40 avis and we would have had to turn people away, particularly since this event packed in over 80 avis throughout the day!
